How to Get There
By plane
If you are coming by plane, please be advised to book a flight to Chubu Centrair International Airport. The venue is located only 5 minutes away from the airport by walking. For further directions, please click HERE.
By train
There are direct trains from Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka and Kyoto to the major train station in Nagoya. There you could change to Meitetsu Tokoname Line which connects the city of Nagoya with the Chubu Centrair International Airport where is the closest train station called Meitetsu Central Japan International Airport Station, located only 5 minutes away from the venue by walking.
By car
Language
The official language of the Convention will be English.
Letter of Invitation
Letters of invitation are available only to registered participants. Upon completion of the registration process, you will receive a confirmaiton email with information about your invitation letter that you may use for visa application.
Visa Information
Currently all foreign nationals who wish to newly enter Japan, need to apply for a visa except for those with re-entry permit. Further information is published HERE.
It is a responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa if required. Participants should familiarise themselves with visa requirements well in advance of the event. The Independent Ageing organisers encourage you to apply for a visa as early as possible, at least 3 to 4 months before the event.
Please consult the Japanese Embassy or Consulate nearest to you for specific details relating to visas.
Climate
Located on the shore of the Ise Bay of the Pacific ocean, Aichi has an oceanic climate. The average minimum temperature in October is 14°C (57°F). The average maximum temperature lies around 23°C (73°F).
Currency
1 EUR = 141 JPY
If you are carrying cash or other means of payment exceeding 1 million yen, you are required to declare to Customs upon arrival at the airport.
Most international credit cards are accepted.

Guest Attendance Policy
All event activities (including educational sessions, meal functions, exhibit hall, etc.) are exclusively reserved for registered attendees. Non-registered guests (including children, family members, colleagues, etc.) are not allowed in any of the event areas. Badges provided at registration are required for entrance into all functions and will be strictly enforced.
